大阪 ザ・フェニックスホールでのコンサート

今日の大阪は本当に暑い一日でした。あまりの日差しの強さと気温の高さに、私は一日中、外を歩くことを避けていました。

お昼過ぎに、フェニックスホールに着きました。フェニックスホールは初めてですが、小さいホールのように見えて、座席数が多いのにはびっくりしました。室内楽に良いホールのようです。

開演19時。ホールは満席でした。前半のプログラムは良い雰囲気で、ヴェルディの演奏は東京の王子ホールのときより良かったのではないかと思いました。

後半はトークから始まり、今までは話すことに緊張しなかったのですが、なぜか今日は、上手く話せませんでした。私は人前(ステージの上)で話すことがあまり得意ではないので、演奏中のトークは特に難しく感じます。
演奏への集中力を保つことも、トークがスムーズに行かなかったので複雑でした。人前で話すことも訓練ですね。

演奏後はお客様たちとのMeet& Greet(ご挨拶やサイン会)が行われ、お会いした中には、高知県や横浜市から応援にきてくださった方もいらして、嬉しかったです。

ミュージック・シェアリングの日本の活動に参加して、長い2週間の毎日でしたが、色々な世界を見ることができ、沢山の人と出会い、また新たな経験をさせていただきました。
音楽を通して、短い時間でしたが、一緒に過ごせた子どもたち、校長先生や担当の先生方と、心が繋がり感動を分かち合えた時間を、感謝しています。

Today it was very hot in Osaka. The strength of the sunlight and the amount of heat in the air caused me to avoid going outside for the whole day.

We arrived at Phoenix Hall just after noon. It was my first time there. For how small the hall was, I was surprised by the number of seats! It is a great hall for chamber music.

At 7 the concert began, to a full hall. There was a great feeling in the hall during the first half of the program. I thought our performance of Verdi was better than it had been at Oji Hall in Tokyo.

The second half began with a talk, and I felt that I spoke a little less confidently than I had before, since I was more nervous than usual. I don't do well speaking in front of people, especially when I have to speak on stage during performances. It was also complicated to focus on performing after feeling like my speech hadn't gone very well. I guess I am still in training as to how to speak well in public!

Afterwards, we had a meet and greet session, and met people who had come from all over Japan, including Kochi and Yokohama. I was very glad about this.

It was a long two weeks of Music Sharing activities in Japan, but I got a glimpse into many different worlds, was able to meet lots of people, and gained lots of new experiences. I am grateful for the chance I had to spend time not only with children, but with principals, teachers, leaders, etc. I am happy that I was able to, even for just a short time, share music with all of these people.
